We are what we put into our minds. This is not a modern insight. It is a biblical one. The Psalmist who wrote "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you" (Ps. 119:11) understood something we easily forget: what we fill our minds with shapes who we become.
That is why we are releasing Psalms Volume 1, an album of ten songs with lyrics drawn word for word from the book of Psalms in the ESV translation. Every line is Scripture. Nothing added, nothing changed.
Music reaches places that reading sometimes cannot. A melody carries a verse past the ear and deeper into memory. We have all experienced this. Songs stay with us in the shower, on the drive to work, and in the quiet of the night when sleep will not come. Psalms Volume 1 is designed to use that capacity for good, giving you something worth turning over in your mind throughout the day.
The Psalms are among the richest words in all of Scripture. They are honest prayers from broken people clinging to a faithful God. They are bold declarations of trust in the middle of fear. They are songs of praise from people who had tasted His goodness and could not keep quiet about it. For three thousand years, God's people have returned to the Psalms in sorrow, in joy, in confusion, and in peace.
Now those same words can follow you through your day set to music.
Listen while you commute. Play it during your morning routine. Return to it when you need your mind redirected to what is true. These ten songs are not a replacement for your Bible. They are a companion to it, one more way to let the Word of God take root in you and do its quiet, lasting work.
